On Friday, June 20, as part of the “International field Trip” of the Hamburg Media School in Germany, students visited Metro Weather through the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan.
Each year, Hamburg Media school offers the second-year MBA and Executive MBA students the opportunity to participate in the so called International Field Trip, which presents a broad perspective on the work of media and digital marketing experts in an international context.
The purpose of this trip is purely educational: From big, established media corporations to small innovative start-ups, the students visit a variety of companies and conduct high-level talks with digital
leaders, innovators and experts. This allows for insights into the industry, the exchange of knowledge and a solid understanding of the visited media market as well as its current opportunities and challenges. Also, the trip raises awareness for the social, cultural, and political aspects of the respective countries.
On this occasion, 15 people, including students, were welcomed at the “Quality Control Center” where R&D is conducted. Mr. Altan Cagcan, who is an Executive Officer, explained the origins of our company, the mechanism of Doppler LiDAR, the current phase and the lidar market.
He also gave a lecture on the mechanism of doppler lidar, showing the actual Doppler LiDAR that is being tested. During the Q&A session that followed the presentation, they asked questions that went into specifics in each area, such as the company’s future technical and financial timeline and the various parts of the lidar. The technical aspects, in particular, can be time-consuming for non-specialists to understand, but the practical learning they had experienced made it a time for good questions to follow. It was a stimulating time for the employees, including the engineers who interacted with the participants, as they were reminded of their own beginnings.
Metro Weather will continue to create opportunities to deepen our understanding of differences in business, technology, and culture, and to discover new things about each other through cross-border exchanges.
Furthermore, we will continue to take on the challenge of creating the “ultimate safe and secure world” that we can realize, together with our “companions”(our employees) from various backgrounds including nationality, age, gender, and career, as well as with everyone who co-creates with us.
