Towards a new future

The mid-2020s are expected to be the era when businesses making use of drones make the leap to full-fledged commercial operation. However, if drones should ever fall to earth, this could potentially result in major accidents. Metro Weather’s vision for the future is about realizing a society in which drones can fly safely and reliably in the skies thanks to the highly-detailed wind condition data that we provide. After cars were first invented 100 years ago, our predecessors had to spend countless hours and considerable expertise on the development of systems supporting safe transportation, an essential development for making cars into safe transportation infrastructure.     Metro Weather develops and manufactures Doppler lidars that use infrared lasers to analyze the light reflected from microparticles in the atmosphere to acquire data on wind direction and wind speed from the speed and direction in which the microparticles move. We are currently searching for optics and mechatronics engineers to develop Doppler lidars that have even higher levels of performance and are more compact and lightweight.

    Metro Weather completed the series A round of capital financing in September and acquired Drone Fund, Real Tech Fund and independent investors as new shareholders.

    We are now planning to expand our business affairs and initiate large-scale fund-raising in 2019, and are searching for CFO candidates able to tie our administration and finances together and achieve our ideals.

    Creation of an internal auditing system
