Metro Weather Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Uji, Kyoto; President and CEO: Jun-ichi Furumoto; hereinafter “Metro Weather”) has established a Tokyo headquarters in Toranomon, Tokyo, a central location with convenient access from both domestic and international regions, on August 31, 2024. Furthermore, on October 31, 2024, the company secured funding through a venture debt (loan with stock acquisition rights) from The Tokyo Star Bank, Limited. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and Representative Executive Officer: Takeshi Ito; hereinafter “Tokyo Star Bank”). This funding will support the company’s ongoing advanced research and development efforts, as well as the promotion of business development and growth strategies.
Transition to a Dual Headquarters
Metro Weather has been advancing the research and commercialization of its wind condition observation product:“Doppler LiDAR” which incorporates remote sensing technology and proprietary signal processing techniques developed over many years. While the company has already expanded its business across Japan and the United States, the Tokyo headquarters was established in Toranomon to strengthen the business development and sales structure and to promote growth strategies. This location was chosen for its high accessibility and concentration of corporate partners. The new Tokyo base is also expected to enhance the company’s competitiveness in recruitment and attract top talent. Moving forward, Metro Weather will operate under a dual headquarters system between Kyoto and Tokyo to support its expanding business domains.
